Join us for our authentic Victorian Teas that are a highlight of this event filled weekend. An experience like no other, this sumptuous affair transports guests back in time to a Grand Ballroom where period clad performers provide a back drop of Victorian music. The authentic Luncheon and High Tea options along with the lavishly designed tables and holiday decorations, sets an atmosphere where you enjoy being truly spoiled by the attentive wait staff.
Howard Burnham, a true Shakespearian actor and a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in London, shares the tale of Scrooge in a one-man production of Dickens own “A Christmas Carol.” This classic tale highlights the spirit of the holiday and all things good and just.

Historic Charleston Christmas & Museum Tour
Sit back and enjoy an entertaining historical narrative of the Low Country Christmas Holiday season on your way to Charleston. As you cross the Cooper River Bridge you will notice Charleston has a skyline that includes the spires of splendid Churches, Cathedrals and synagogues. Upon arriving in Charleston your tour guide will give you a comprehensive city tour of this historical 300 year old port city, highlighting the Battery Waterfront, Rainbow Row, Broad Street, Four Corners of Law and the U.S. Customs House. Lunch is on your own in the city Market district where you'll find a multitude of unique eating and shopping options await you. Next on the agenda you will go on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Charleston Museum. The literary works of Charles Dickens span the early Victorian period, 1830 - 1860, with his famous Christmas Carol published in 1843. The Dickens era inspired most of the goods used and the fashions worn that came in from England and Europe. When you go behind-the-scenes at the Charleston Museum you will see costume and fashion from the period, Victorian tea wares, household goods, decorative art and of course antique Christmas ornaments. Holiday of Plantations, Patriots & Pecans
As you journey inland toward Florence, you will enjoy a lively narrative about a Victorian Christmas celebration and the events that precede and follow the true and timeheld English tradition. Your first stop will be a tasty experience at Young's pecans Gift Shop. The luscious pecan pies have long graced holiday tables. Their heirloom recipes are used to create many delectable confections. Prior to your arrival at The Columns, your tour guide will enlighten you on the traditions of an old plantation Christmas. The Columns, circa 1850, the last working plantation in the Pee Dee, will be your next point of interest. Greeted in period clothing, you will be given a tour of the house and gardens while hearing the history of the plantation. We will end our tour with some local fare for lunch. The food is local fresh and delicious but the cheese cakes are what may keep you going back. Over 75 flavors of cheese cake to try or bring home with you.

The Annual Festival of Trees is from November 1 until December 31 and displays more then 50 adorned trees unique to each of these great United States. Some of the festival's most unique trees include a glistening white Alaska tree, a Kentucky Derby inspired red roses tree, Nevada's tree complete with a showgirl in feather headdress, the all patriotic Pennsylvania tree and the magnificently decorated Mardi Gras tree with masks and beads representing Louisiana. And during your visit you will play Tree Scavenger Hunt, a unique tree trivia game, available at no charge from the Guest Service desk.
